How to plan awesome (And realistic) New Years resolutions.

Hello everyone! Making New Years resolutions is one of the most motivational things a person can do at the beginning of the year. Why do we do it? Because we feel we need to change something in our lives to make it better. We want to do awesome things that we didn't do in the past year (For some reason). I am the perfect example of a person who makes New Years resolutions and makes up a million excuses at the end of the year to justify why I got nothing done. This year, I want it to be different, that's why I'm going to make a little list of tips to make perfectly amazing and achieveable New Years resolutions. Here we go!

  • Be realistic: Alright, this is usually one of our first mistakes. We make very hard goals like learning another language when we know we won't have time or the money to invest in it. The idea is not to change the goal, but to break it down in steps. For instance, instead of learning another language, our goal can be "Learning basic italian". That way we turned out goal into something more realistic and not so overwhelming. Remember, the idea is not to change our goal, but to make it more achieveable.
  • Make one big goal: This is the thing we REALLY want to do. This is our MAIN goal, the reason why 2016 will be a year we will always remember. This big goal can be travelling, blogging, learning a new skill, starting a new hobby or whatever you really want out of the year.
  • Make little goals: These can be broken down in two ways. First, we can do it monthly. For example: In January I'll get a makeover, in February I'll learn how to drive, in March I'll spend more quality time with my family, and so on. Second, we can do it by subject. For example: Goal related to family, goal related to friends, goal related to studies, goal related to work and so on. Don't make so many that you'll get all stressed out.
  • Make sure it's something you really want to do: Make goals that you really want to accomplish. For example, if one of your goals is to work out, make sure it's because you love your body and you want to be healthier, not so other people will like you. You are perfect just the way you are. Enjoy all of the things you do. Always be awesome and love yourself! (This applies to all of your New Years resolutions)

Examples of New Years resolutions:

  1. Drink 8 glasses of water every day.
  2. Exercise 3 times a week.
  3.  Meditate.
  4. Clean more often.
  5. Relax.
  6. Try my best in everything I do.
  7. Learn a new skill.
  8. Learn something useful.
  9. Spend more time with my family and/or friends.
  10. Walk my dogs every day.
  11. Eat more vegetables.
  12. Be even MORE awesome (If it's possible!)

Here are some cute printables I found on Pinterest. You can print them out, write your resolutions down and stick them on your dresser or agenda.
